The story begins in a lost city in a sacrificed region We are perhaps in Central Europe in a coal basin surrounded by metalliferous and gray mountains, or in Western Siberia. In this end of the century decor, a news commonplace inaugurates the "Ghost Train" and introduces the two main characters that we follow throughout the journey:
